Barcelona has completed the Paulinho deal from Guangzhou Evergrande.
According to the Daily Mail, Barca have completed the call for midfielder Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande. It is reported that to get Paulinho’s signature, Barca are thought to have spent 40 million euros (36.5 million pounds).
Paulinho is the name that Barca has pursued throughout the years. At first they only put on the negotiating table 17 million pounds for this deal, but the continuous Guangzhou Evergrande refused to force the Nou Camp team to offer a high price.
Paulinho’s appearance came at a time when Barcelona were rebuilding the squad following Neymar’s departure. This is also the ‘fire’ deal after Barça could not recapture Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Before moving to China, Paulinho spent two years in Europe, in Tottenham. Here, the Brazilian midfielder has made 67 appearances, scoring 11 goals, before being sold for just £ 10m in 2015.
